BIO

Kat Trataris is an installation and performance artist based in San Francisco. She uses sculpture, installation, and performance to enact the physical boundaries used to govern our social behaviors. Trataris received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, and her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from San Diego State University. In 2015 she was a recipient of the Murphy and Cadogen Contemporary Art Award. Her work has been shown at CCA Hubbell Street Galleries (San Francisco, CA), Incline Gallery (San Francisco, CA), NOSPACE (Oakland, CA), Embark Gallery (San Francisco, CA), and SOMArts (San Francisco, CA). Trataris co-founded W*AH (Woman* Art Handlers) and R/SF projects and works as a Manager of Exhibitions, Events, and Partnerships at the San Francisco Art Institute.
