AIR is a collaborative project that takes the form of an artist-in-residence program that was launched March 2016 at residence/SF. Bay Area artists Kaitlin Trataris and Paula Morales resided in the gallery space for a week in an effort to collaborate in living and art making. AIR aims to focus in on the ways in which the communal, domestic, and personal life support and form the artist and their practice. Kaitlin and Paula negotiated their roles and obligations inside of a domestic environment while creating collaborative works that respond to the nature of domesticity in both action and form. The process of art making and the labor of domestic work shifts from private to public by living in the gallery space and on actual display through the window facing the street. The artists will continue to develop and expand the AIR project in new locations.
Come by to meet the artists, see some art and snack on cheese (and enjoy drinks)!
Opening reception is Friday October 30th from 6-9pm.
